I had the opportunity to go to Nelson's Landing with my son's astronomy class Saturday night. There was still some light pollution from Vegas but you could still see so many more stars than you can in town. We saw Saturn through Dr. Batchelor's telescope. You could see the ring around it. Pretty amazing. I tried my hand at star trails. I also photographed the Milky Way. It was a lot of fun and I hope to get a chance to go again. I would like to try using a film camera for the star trails.

LV Doc's theme this week was Vegas up high. We went to the Stratosphere. I, unfortunately, was late and missed the class photo. Oh well.... Christina was given a free ticket for a ride and was brave enough to go. Better her t
han me. :)
